The Escape of the Heart
Colors and form don’t adhere to the escape of the heart
There isn’t form, composition or harmony,
that capture the heart’s movement, it dart away, like crazy splinters
The violent impulse, irrepressible impulse of the heart that separates, abandons me and escapes, leaving no ties, to you.
and I, broken hermaphrodite remain here with only single, bloody half of a spherical head which long before belonged to me, and, most of all, without heart. |

Exceptional Italian artist-poet Tiziana Pantaleoni paintings and poems are dark and intense, and heavily influenced by her passionate interest in philosophy and Jungian psychology. |

Critical text (by Enzo Fabiani in Premio Arte 2003 Giorgio Mondadori Editore) The first impression may recall the research of a sort of “geometrical truth” by means of a severe construction of shapes:each of them is executed with a refined decorative technique. But soon we note that the rhythmical and limpid “vision” is, thanks to and beyond her painting and colouristic skill, animated by something poetically alive, philosophically musical. To these “signs” and “messages” we should add the verses which the artist uses to decorate and frame everything , and here is the charm.
Creative Statement by Tiziana Pantaleoni
Descent in the Psyche’s underwood. The archetypal language of the emotions.
My art work originates from philosophical need to explore psyche’s most deep essence which, like Jung analytical psychology means, belongs to all humanity and eludes “ space-time” laws.
The emotions span the “constellation” of the archetypal forms and have become a pictorical language. So, through artistic production, I gain access to the ”beyond the sky’s” metaphysical dimension.
Then, painting is my only instrument to philosophize.
Archetypal figure which often appears in my picture is “hermaphrodite”. In fact Jung think in every culture and civilization the “androgyne” is strongest image able to attract “psican libido” eg. Aztecan (Dual God), Hinduism (male and female in Shiva), Plato (the myth of androgyne).
By stylistic viewpoint the choice of work on relief and using clay are necessary for portray human psyche’s complexity. |
