SEALS ON THIN ICE
Every year, hundreds of thousands of gentle seals are clubbed to death by trophy hunters and pleasure-killers, and fur traders.
More than one million seals have been slaughtered in the past five years alone. These kill levels are among the highest witnessed in Canada in half a century. The last time seals were killed at this rate—in the 1950s and '60s—the harp seal population was reduced by as much as two thirds.

We have the means to stop this barbaric practice. Firstly, by refusing to buy seal fur and other seal products. If there is no monetary value to their deaths, they will no longer be slaughtered. Secondly, we can sign petitions, write to governments, and let others know what is going on. The only hope these animals have for survival and humane treatment is our voice, and our actions.
